A Cultural Phenomenon

If I could hand someone a book that perfectly details what a southern family looks like, this book is what I would hand them. The use of intertwining southern family culture and historical preface was excellent. Jumping back and forth between different people and places, to only tie it all together was done perfectly.

Great Book! Must Have Book ...

I couldn’t put it down once I picked it up. I became so mesmerizing with all the eccentric characters that the author so greatly displayed on the pages especially Uncle Dallas. Any reader who purchases this book will be taking a sweet southern ride through Yazoo , MS while intertwining a Cold War mystery.

Madalan L. - Reading Enthusiast

In his debut novel, Dale Beasley explores the cultural idiosyncrasies of a fictional extended family juxtaposed against events of the Third Reich during World War II and  into the Cold War in the 1970s. He reveals a tale that might already have occurred from as far back as the War Between the States.

What a cast of quotable characters!

Dean Burchfield — Chairman (R), Social Science Division, Itawamba Community College

Who better to craft a novel steeped in Southern idiosyncrasies and gritty characters than someone who lived the would-be adventure? Dale Beasley’s young adult novel spins a tale of Cold War spies in the land of the mint julep that grabs the reader from the start and won’t let go.

Darden North — National IPPY award-winning author in Southern Fiction

Dale Beasley writes as if he were lobbing pebbles into a lake – one pebble generates wave after wave of colorful reflections. But Beasley lobs rocks by the bucketful, and the result is delightful reading. Buy the book!
